I got the idea from you Americans, had it reinforced by a regional Beagle club in New Zealand who seems to mainly exist for Beagle walks and socialising after the walks as their ribbon parades (non championship conformation shows) become less and less popular.
It's a growing activity in NZ from among some of the specialist dog breed clubs as a lot of their members are not into conformation showing. The group I organise is just a bunch of people - but some of them do belong to a Corgi club. The club is centred away from the region I live in and does not cater for anything other than conformation showing, breeding and a three monthly newsletter. Corgis and their families want more than that.
