My pembroke, Teddy, is very shy around new people, he's almost 2 so I'm afraid it's to late to correct this behavior. I'm very upset about this, because I got him in hope of doing therepy work with him. Does anyone know, or think they know a way to help him be more friendly with strangers? I'm thinking of getting a second dog if Teddy can't learn to stop shying away from new people, because I Really want to do therepy work, because it combines my love of helping people AND dogs. So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!
