Question Feet grooming

I hope this is not a dumb question, but Sassy is the first Corgi we have owned, we have always had Bassett Hounds and Poodles.

I am wondering if the hair on the pads of Sassy's feet should be groomed? She slides on my linoleum floors in my kitchen and hallway. She has no problems outside or on the carpet. If it does need groomed is it something I could do with something like a mans beard trimmer or should I take her to the groomer to have this done?

You all are so helpful on this forum and I am so happy I found it. I am sure I will be on here a lot. Oh one more question, my Sassy seems to get bored a lot and I was wondering if you recommend that I get another Corgi or other breed for company or just get busy with the agility exercises? She is very energetic, but she will dig holes in my yard when she is bored that no one is outside playing with her.
