I feel there are no dumb questions just dumb or rude answers. I trim the hairs on my Corgi's pads by putting a muzzle on her while I have her up where I can get hold of her foot. Being careful not to nip her I have kept the fur from being long enough to get under her pads. You may want to have someone hold her while you concentrate on trimming.
Since I am handling her frequently, I don't need the muzzle as often, she is beginning to trust me.
I will let someone else answer about getting more exercise for Sassy. She definitely needs some way to work off her energy. Good Luck Jane
