At eight months, it is not usual for a Corgi to want to eat into everything. Having said that, some Corgis of course are not as discerning as they could be at any age. I looked after a problem Corgi for two weeks quite recently and he was seven months old at the time, and he ate everything he could grab - lunch wrapping paper, the lot. He was not your usual Pem Corgi in this regard but it was related to his relationship difficulties with his elderly owner.
With my Taylor, I just have to say "leave" or "arh arh"- and he leaves. Or "oooh" and he trots away from what he was smelling. And he doesn't like the taste of sticks - so he is no fetcher. All my Pems I have had have been quite fussy to very fussy once they got out of the early puppy stages where exploring and sampling things are the most important aspects of life.
