Don't give up on the idea of corgi rescue. It is possible to get a younger dog, if you look around. There's alot to be said for a dog past the puppy stage of needing housebreaking, chewing and digging everywhere, and is an all out terror. I've done it both ways. I adopted an 8 year old corgi (who is the best dog ever), and bought a puppy from a breeder. My 9 month old puppy still does alot of bad stuff. He's beautiful, but what a terror. Best of luck.
