I dont do candles unless they are the yankee candles in the glass jars and then they are put on surfaces that i am positive the cats cant get to...mine are not super jumpers. The candles that are the elegant tall candles that you put in candle holders on a dining room table for example will never find their way into my house.. they are way too big a risk.
IF you love candles and the lovely smells, brookstones and sharper image both have scented candles that are flameless- they look so real but they do not have fire - just something to think about or check out...
