Monica, was his eye ok in the end? I am assuming it was becuase you didnt say otherwise. He sounds like a joy!

you know i have a similar cat food story for you. I reluctantly was dragged out to dinner...it was the first time we had gone out since we brought him home ( he was about 4 1/2 months old ) and we crated him in his soft crate up in our bedroom, and took down all gates in the downstairs as he was secure upstairs. Well i come home from dinner and there he was, right at the door waiting for me- I was shocked and thought he must have ripped a hole in the screen front of his crate. I ran upstairs, his crate was not damaged at all, he just unzipped it from the inside! smart boy! well the second thing i noticed was the cat bowl- three kibble pieces short of empty -i used to free feed them so there was always at least 2 cups of cat food in the bowl at any time. so this little guy not only ate his dinner right before we went out, but in the two hours we were gone he ate an additional two cups of very fiber rich low fat cat food- i was terribly concerned his belly was hard as a rock and rouuuuuund like a basketball. I nearly rushed him to the emergency vet but my hubby assured me he would be ok, and you know he was fine...and was a lot less interested in the cat food after that incident. ( he pooped about 6 times the next day- more than i though would be possible for this little boy) I learned never to trust the soft crate unless i locked the zipper ( there is a zipper lock , who would have though you needed to actually use it??? ) He now is ungated with cat food down, i am smart enough to take the cat food up when i leave the house, and leave him alone...but while i am here - he wont dare eat that cat food- no matter how yummy it smells ( i have since changed to all canned cat food that smells better to him.)
I am really glad that Huw had such a good experience at the vets - that is good news, and glad he is doing well.
Emilie
