Hi Len and Kim
So sorry to hear of your sad loss and so terribly sudden and unexpected. Even from here in New Zealand, I can help you locate a reputable Pem breeder but you never mentioned the town/city and state where you live. Your description of what Corgi puppy you desire is a little confusing but I'm sure you mean that you would like a puppy from show quality parentage (ie excellent conformation) though the pup need not necessarily be of show standard.
Some Americans think little of travelling great distances to get the dog they want. I recently read where a couple travelled for 15 hours to choose the puppy they wanted from a litter four weeks old, and then went back to see their chosen pup each week for four or five weeks before they actually could bring their boy/girl home.
I must say, two and a half years ago, I scouted out of my region - and indeed my island - to get the kind of Pem baby I wanted. And it worked out perfectly well. When I say "scouted", it was all arranged by telephone and email and then eventually me and my family arriving at the airport to greet a 13 week old Corgi.
