I see your points, but I also agree with Corgi. A reputable breeder is one
who tests both parents for things that may affect their breed so that the litter has the best chance of being healthy. They breed for the betterment of the breed, not for the money, because they love Corgis. So many dogs end up in rescues because people got these purebreds from back yard breeders who did not test the sire and dam for anything and the puppies end up with health problems, temperament problems and then their families no longer want to bother with them. Just go to PETFINDER.COM and check out all the dogs at Humane societies and rescues - many of them purebreds - probably most of them from backyard breeders who didn't have a clue as to what they were doing, but made a profit. I knew a lady who bought a AKC Cocker spaniel and then bred it twice and never did any health checks on her dog or
the sire - WHY? As she told me, she made enough profit off those two litters
to justify getting her dog and that the money made from the litters would cover the health expenses of owning her dog - can you believe that one! Sad, but true. My own mother in law bought two Boston Terriers from a so called back yard breeder(same litter) and Both dogs had to each have an eye removed when they were just 1 1/2 years old - no testing was ever done on the parents - just plain irresponsible breeding.
