Sometimes dogs will find certain places irresistable. One of my sisters had 10 kids and when they were all very young there were certain smells in her lounge due to nappies and in a place or two, the lingering smell only discernable to a dog, which was the result of a baby 'error.' So my Corgi on one occasion lifted his leg and a small wetness appeared on the wallpaper. The answer to a dog which does this sort of thing more than once, is to admonish the culpruit in the act or just before the final unwanted action ie as soon as he has raised a leg. I'm sure a well house trained dog will take notice - if not the first time, certainly by the second or third.. You may have to put on his leash before he comes inside the homes of your friends etc.
