My husband still remembers being pulled through throngs of people during the fall of Saigon towards the Embassy, he says that he can still feel the grip his grandmother had on his wrist. He was three. It was the US Army that got them out, and fed them, and it was the US Govt that helped raise him and made him the wonderful man that he is. My husband idolized US soldiers and the military his entire life, and he hates what is happening with society these days when he has seen firsthand just how great it is, if he's said it once, he's said it a million times, "If it's so bad here, then leave." (He never envisioned as a sad child growing up all alone in a country where he could not even communicate, that he would marry an Irish redhead who would write his story!)
*He also says that he never thought that he would own a small dog like a Corgi, but he's just as bad as me when it comes to spoiling her!)
