Snowflake,

Most people are busy around the holidays visiting family and celebrating Christmas and often have guests staying at their homes, and the last thing they need is a new puppy that really needs constant supervision much like a new baby. Puppies need to be fed on a regular schedule and also taken out potty quite frequently and you cannot let a puppy roam around the house without someone keeping an eye on it at all times. They will chew on furniture and possibly other dangerous stuff if they are not monitored and you need to spend time playing with them along with teaching them proper doggy manners. Not all puppies sleep through the night either. They need to be in a crate for the night, which will keep them safe and help with potty training them, so someone has to be willing and available to get up with them during the night to take them out if that is necessary
