Corgi questions-- Barkers, good apt dogs? -

Are most Corgi's barkers? I get different informations in books & online, and I'm not sure what's true & what's not anymore. They say corgi's can be a good alarm clock, and good guard dog/watchdog. Yoda, my corgi is 3 months old now, and since I've had him, he barely ever barks at all. He is such a good, quiet dog. In a whole month, I've only heard about 3, single barks out of him. Each time he barked, it was when he was in a very playful mood, but other than those few barks... it's hard to even get him to bark if you tried. I can't complain though, I mean this only makes him a very good dog to me, b/c most dogs do quite a lot of barking. I was just wondering, are most Corgi puppies quiet like this? Do they get more communicative/barky as they get older?
Also, some books say that Corgi's are not good apartment dogs, and plenty of online site say that THEY ARE. One of the reasons I got a Corgi, was b/c I heard that they were the kind of dog that didn't mind not having a yard, and that they were good apartment dogs. I mean, even in the show Dharma & Greg, there is a Corgi in their apartment. I suppose if they have the whole house, attention from people, gets out to go to the bathroom, and short walks. They really could care less about a yard.
What do you all think?
