Chip will bark if he hears a strange noise, if someone comes to visit or if he sees a strange dog outside of our fence. He sounds like he is a great big dog. He also will bark 3 or 4 times when I have to go away and leave him to let me know he isn't happy. He also barks at lady when he is herding her to the bathroom to eat her supper. He also aaarrooos and rooos and puff barks so I guess my Chip is a bit vocal. Having said all that, I would think that each corgi is a little different so that is probably why you get all the conflicting statements.
