ChloeLouise is 18 months old now and is a sweet-tempered, cheerful dog. I believe she understands right from wrong (appropriate/inappropriate) and more often than not choses to conform to the household "rules". When scolded, she "apologizes" - when she "steals" contraband, she relinquishes the item (unwillingly, but...) without too much resistance. She HATES being brushed but we have a terrific groomer. I can mess with her food and bowl, and she is VERY friendly with strange dogs and children. Having said all those positive things, she does have some completely INSANE behaviours!! The other day she came upon the fly swatter which happened to be on the back entry floor...Chloe became UNHINGED!! She barked hysterically at it, snapping, and yipping and SQUEALING! You would have thought an alien species had invaded our home!!

I tried to show her it was "okay" but she lunged at it even more fiercely!! Finally I threw it down the basement steps...thank goodness the "fly season" is over! She reacts similarly to recycling - when we squish cans or milk jugs to recycle she rushes in from whereever she is and barks in a frantic, highpitched way and jumps at the "offending" item! And DON'T sneeze in our house if you don't want a crazed Corgi in your face!! I have tried to determine WHAT sets her off - is it the noise?...the "startle factor"?... But here is the final crazy behaviour - my husband and I can "snuggle" only when Chloe is out of sight!!

A hug and kiss hello or goodbye sends Chloe into a frenzy of barking! I think she is being protective or jealous...but nevertheless, it is, shall we say, "restrictive"!! So, just wondering what other quirky Corgi behaviours are out there in otherwise calm, goodnatured dogs!!
