Thanks Tandemgal, I'll have a look at those threads.
Yes we use a cleaner, it isn't specifically purpose designed for cleaning away those particular smells, it is a general cleaner.
She has been to the vet a few times for her shots and everything so far, the vet has always commented that everything seems in order, but perhaps he wasn't looking for those particulars? We'll ask about it specifically next time.
