MGM is correct in saying rescue dogs are not right for everyone, but then neither are puppies or young adults or older dogs from Breeders. Bottom line is corgis are NOT the right breed for everyone who thinks they want or for even some who own them (seen a few of them pop up even on GoCorgi). There are many who feel/think corgis are not a good breed for first time dog owners and won't place into such homes. But not all rescues come with a whole host of problems either. I have had some wonderful fosters that could go into basically in home situation and worked out beautifully. I've had others that needed a very dog savvy (at least) and/or breed savvy home.

I know the Sunshine rescue folks and hear about many of the dogs that they have in their program and I know the job they do of screening and matching the right homes to their rescues. I would have never have mentioned them if I had any qualms about the manner in which the handle themselves. (There are other rescues in some areas I will not acknowledge at all.) Just as a Breeder is not going to let a buyer pick out willy-nilly whichever puppy they want, rather match the individual puppies to the home environment and lifestyle of the family, a good rescue is going to do the same. When it comes to matching dogs (and breeds) there is no size fits all answer, too many variables and individual factors to take into consideration. In Sage's case, IF I were working with him, I'd have concerns about the pairing of a corgi with a Siberian Husky. I'd have to get to know more about his current dog (and that applies in any situation) before going forward.
