THIS THREAD IS NOW OPEN FOR ANY POSTINGS
And the winner is............
Jo Bolten, our fabulous judge, has made her choice and I'm happy to announce the following placegetters as per Go Corgi's very first photo competition:
FIRST - Astara Cheetah's one year old male Pembroke, Shippo of Colorado.
SECOND - Cheryl's one year old male Pembroke, Checkers of Utah.
THIRD - Bethany and Jim's one year old male Cardigan, Ace of South Texas.
Here's what some of the things Jo said:
There are some lovely looking Corgis entered and all look well loved members of their families. I was after a Corgi who performed an action and not just lay around. Choosing second and third was very difficult
1st/ Shippo, bounding through the snow after an unsuspecting snowball.
The photo is fantastic. The expression on the dog's face is really nice. The snowball in the air along with the movement of the dog completes the picture and makes it a joy to view. Congrats on a great shot that could grace the cover of many a magazine.
2nd/ Checkers playing in the snow.
Another trully good photo. Checkers looked like he is happily running home to mum and dad and can't wait to catch them. The absence of colour from the snow really makes the dog stand out and become the focal of your attention. Once again, expression is great and the cute little pink toes peeking out from behind are sweet.
3rd/ It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's Super Corgi.
This photo could be improved by some judicial cropping. But it is a very nice shot. I could quite easily imagine this little firecracker launching over a long jump in an agility competition. The caption was great and pushed it up the rankings.
From MR: thanks to all those who participated and have helped to set up a competition that will be repeated next year around the same time frame.
Jo has got a comment or two for all the participants and if any of the others wish to know what she said, contact me.
Cheetah - email me a brief rundown of you and Ace within the framework of 70 words for adding to the wonderful winning photo which will have home page recognition for at least the next two months.
