We live with a cat who still has all her toes and fingers (not declawed), and neither of our dogs have been injured. She is not allowed to mess with the dogs, and they are not allowed to mess with her. There are alternatives to declawing as well, such as "Soft Paws or "Soft Claws," which are rubber nail caps that you slip over the cat's extended claws. They can still claw things naturally, and retract their claws, but they just can't damage anything, and it doesn't involve amputating their body parts. Many vets here refuse to declaw now.
Shippo grunts too, like when I have him on his back clipping his toenails, or trimming his foot fur, etc. He's the first dog I've had that does that lmfao! But now I know that I'm not alone! >^^;< It really is funny. He does sound like a little piggy.
