Welcome to the site Heather. I owned by one of the aforementioned fluffies, Jackie (aka Fluffypants). I totally understand your feelings about the "typical" corgi look. When I was interviewing / being interviewed by breeders, I was asked if I would take a fluffy. My first instinct was to say no, because I had spent the past 20 years researching corgis (I've wanted one since I was a young girl), and I wanted one that looked like the ones I was familiar with. But after some thinking, I ultimately decided that what I wanted was a CORGI - the personality, intelligence, comic stylings, etc., and that "look" was a very small part of the package when measured against the rest of it.

So I told my breeder that my first choice would be a regular-coat, R&W male, but would take whatever she ultimately recommended. Flash forward 4 months, and I had my baby . . . a fluffy, RHT female! Totally the opposite of what I thought I wanted, but what did I know? I wouldn't trade her for the world.

I keep the pants trimmed short, to avoid any messiness, and I find that 5 minutes of daily brushing eliminates 95% of mats. I have also heard that fluffs shed less than regular-coats, and I think that may be true. Either that, or the daily brushing helps tremendously. Although Jackie sheds A LOT, it doesn't seem (to me) as bad as some of the stories I have heard on here!!!

I think Jackie is a moderate fluffy, as she does not have the luxurious coat of ChloeLouise or Gizmo. I am admittedly biased, but I think she is beautiful. I can't think of any reason not to get a fluffy! Don't get me wrong, I love the regular coats too, and still would like to have one (or two, or three, or eight . . .) someday. But Jackie has opened my eyes to the power of the fluff! You can see (A LOT) of pics of her on my dogster and flickr pages (links below). Your potential new pup is such a cutie. I hope that you do bring her home, and that we will get to watch her grow up here on gocorgi!
