I know exactly what you have been through. I lost my first Corgi to cancer this summer, and her partner, Rupert, started getting extremely depressed, so we got a new girl, Jemma, several weeks later.
I didn't think it was such a good idea at the time, but now I know it was the best thing for both Rupert and I.
Good for you for giving another wonderful Corgi a home.
