Hold the phone! Poisen control charges $50????

I too have a refirgerator magnet with emergency vet # and poisen control. I plan to call and find out if they charge and if so, find a service that doesn't.

Thats unacceptable! Suppose your pet were possibly poisened and the family didn't have $50 or a credit card (I'm guessing that's how they take their fee)! Would they (the poisen control line) let the pet be sick or possibly die???? Geez!

That's just wrong. Is this how it works for humans? Imagine a sick child and you get charged for asking a question?????
