I remember all so well the first time I saw Duncan. There was a breeder close by that had 4 females puppies and 1 male puppy ready for homes. When I called to make arrangements to see them, I told him due to my work schedule, it wouldn't be until that Sunday before I could get out. He said he had 4 other people coming and they hadn't decided on what they wanted yet. (I had my heart set on a female.) Anyway, by the time I got there, the male was the only one left. Now, my husbands only job was not to let me take the first one I saw. That was his only job! He said as soon as the breeder brought Duncan out, he knew right then and there that dog was coming home with us. He knew I've been wanting another corgi for such a long, long time; he didn't have the heart to stop me from taking the first one. My husband said my face lit up like he's never seen it. The first words out of my mouth was "LOOK!!!!! His ears are standing up at 8 weeks!!!!!

So, within the first hour of his new home, Duncan managed to jump into the pond to swim, and take a couple of laps of beer out of my glass before I could stop him.

He's my little hellion, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. He managed to make my cat loving husband of fan of dogs, especially corgis. My husband said he has never seen such bright, intelligent, thinking dogs in his life. In fact, he says there will always be dogs at our house now, and we'll probably due rescues.
