Haha... I was the first to pick Checkers out of a group of four pups. They were calling him Jango Jr because his sire was Jango and they said he looked the most like his dad. There were 3 males and one female. The female was an immediate turn-off for me, if she had been the only pup left I would have walked out. All three of the males were okay, but two stood out for me. They both had similar markings... and the temperments were pretty close too. Of the two though, Checkers was the one that stuck with me the longest, even with all the other pups playing chase in the yard. I really had intended to just go and look that first time, but it didn't happen that way. Checkers came home with me that very night... my poor husband was at work and had no idea until he got home the next morning and saw the puppy kennel by the bed! Luckily it only took him one look at Checker's little sweet face to melt just as badly as I had. He was about 10 weeks old then. This is one of his first pictures with us....(note that is my husband's lap he is snuggling on hehe)
