this is an older thread, but I thought I would put this here.
I noticed in yesterday's paper that they are going to try and make our public parks more "dog friendly". Currently, no dogs, even if leashed, are allowed in public parks - even to walk through them with their owners.
The proposed change would allow leashed pets to walk through parks on designated sidewalks or walkways that connect with other sidewalks or walkways in a neighborhood.
Pets would still be banned form picnic areas, playgrounds, pavillions and athletic fields. I had always thought it would have been nice to take my dog to my kids sporting events, but that is not allowed.
And Michael, I had to laugh a bit looking back at your last sentence - I guarantee you that not all officials/police in our city are snoozing in the morning - they are out at all hours of the day doing their job.
Anyway, I was wondering if others city park rules are similar to these rules?
