We are going to neuter regardless of show vs pet, the breeder knowing of course. I just don't want a male to take on the neighbor's dogs which run loose - cost of living in a rural, no leash law town. The male pitbull that my female loved, doesn't get along with males and the owner is very responsible and always has him on a leash. He broke my heart whining for my Pepper to come out and I tried to tell him she was gone. Dogs are amazing.

A typical adult male Pembroke should weigh 28-30 lbs. 35 would be a rather large Pembroke and IMO, oversized.

We want the cardigan and 25 lbs is the smallest I thought, I never heard how big the big boy from the litter was. Soot lived on a ranch in CO. Good to know just because they start small they can end up bigger. Because Pepper had the severe turned out paw, we were very strict on her weight.
A friend mentioned "they don't call females b*tchs for no reason". LOL our's became one with her arthritis her last year. You know a little growl when I interrupted her sleep to bring her upstairs to her bed. Do males not get grumpy or grouchy in their extreme old age?
