You loose the new posts if you are on while the midwest midnight rolls over.
New posts: I had 582 because I was off the forum a week, but being on the west coast of the US I enter the forum usually in the evening when everyone seems to be tucked in bed.
Well at 10pm Pacific Standard Time, all of a sudden the new posts changed to 3. And it said the last time I logged in was "yesterday".
So warning if you log in before midwest midnight, you'll loose the new post listing after midwest midnight.
