Merrie,
Scroll through this page, and you'll find a newborn litter out of a brindle dam (who happens to be Cardiguy's Ruby's sister).

Going from left to right, red puppy 1, red puppy 2, brindle puppy, sable (??) puppy (on top of the other & good bum shot

) and the rest of the puppies are brindle.
At:
http://www.gocorgi.com/forums/hello-...gan-cadre.html you'll find one of the puppies (not sure where she was in the puppy pile) at 12 weeks.
It does depend on what shade of brindle the puppies are as to how distinguished the brindling is and how pronounced the color pattern is, but with the exception of black brindles, brindling can be seen pretty much at birth. Just as red and white Pem puppies look like they've been dipped in mud at first, and then when puppy coat goes the color clears up, same with Cardigan puppies. The red and white puppies in the Cardigan litter were nice medium reds when they went to their new homes. The possible sable boy, I need to follow up on him and see if he did indeed turn out to be sable.
