The one line statement posted that evoked so much emotion seemed like a frustrated reflection of what a good portion of the international community feels right now with the US government itself. If you don't believe this opinion, take a trip to Australia, New Zealand or the UK and ask some of the residents.

It is difficult to convince people from other countries that the people from the US are on the whole not over opinionated, egocentric, obnoxious, "might is right" people. That they actually and truely are some of the most sophisticated, big hearted, caring, intelligent and noble peoples in the world.

I am far from advocating what was said, but I seriously doubt that the comment was aimed at the actual troops of the US armed forces. The person that wrote the comment has troops, that his own government sent from his own country, standing side by side with the US armed forces.

If the comment was not meant to offend, it should at the very least be clarified in a respectful context. Deleting posts only inflames the situation. If the comment was meant to offend and be left undeleted, the people who spoke up were more than right to post what they did and have it uncensored.
