Ok i checked the lighted lab coat, and here is the thing, It doesnt come up high on the neck, it actually lays close to the shoulder blades as the first part, then there is a 2 -3 inch battery pack on the top but below that there is nothing that would be in the way for you to make a hole, but i am not sure how far down the body the harness loop is - you might even be able to get it so that the jacket doesnt need to be cut if it is high enough on the back - the wires go down the sides from the battery pack they are not on the top, and this coat doesnt provide warmth, it is not lined, it is thin, water repellant windbreaker type material, which is great for keeping them somewhat dry on top if it is raining..but i got it mostly for the protection of being seen while walking after dark...
Susan, better safe than sorry, especially when you live in a rural area where people are flying down the road not expecting to see people and animals and such.. I am in a pretty busy neighborhood so we have lots of cars and people and dogs and such but you wouldnt believe how fast people still drive around here, that is why i try to make sure that i am seen no matter what!
