In preparation for a puppy, I need to find out how we should handle the puppy and my son's flute playing.

Our past dog was so senior and deaf that she handled the flute music well after a week of his practice. She would look up at me when my son would play a really high note, then see I had no reaction, she'd go back to sleep.

My son is an accomplished player and practices 40 minutes, probably 45 when we get our puppy.

My thoughts are that I would have the puppy in an adjacent room to see how he would react and let him approach the flute playing if he wanted to. Or I could have him outside for the first introduction and proceed to the room after that.

Need all helpful hints on handling this daily situation.
