Go to Block Island !
The best way to see Block Island is by bicycle or moped. But, you can rent a car to take the dogs with you. See the Southeast Light, go up in the light to the top. Walk the dogs
leashed (bird nesting area) out to the North light. The car does not quite go all the way to the North light. If you can do many, many, stairs go down to the beach at Mohigan Bluffs. Even If you can't do the stairs you can look down from the top. If the dogs are good in small boats you can rent boats of all kinds. Just about everything to know about Block Island is on line.
Plenty of places to let the dogs in the water and go swiming. Eat at "The Oar" so you can see Old Harbor. It's a huge protected harbour with many big boats. Don't just stay near the ferry and see the stores, that would be a shame, get a car and see the island. Plenty of maps available on line and at the island. I can drown you with photos if you like.
