When you say sugar free does that mean sugar substitute free? I read somewhere that dogs don't handle the sugar substitutes because they can't digest it.

That isn't a problem in my house because it is sugar, molasses, honey, or natural fruit, none of the imitation chemicals.

Merrie,

Absolutely, will shoot you my recipe via PM tomorrow morning.

Sugar free means "Splenda". Unfortunately, my Aunt who had surgery this last Monday can no have sugar. She is super-diabetic, and our family is pretty insulin resistant, so I am very careful with any sugar intake. As the ice cream was for her, I made it with Splenda. Splenda has been the best "frankenfood" that I could find that was an easy 1:1 ratio and tasted okay.

For the cats, I will put organic Nancy's Vanilla or Plain Yogurt in and spin it for a cool summer treat. The sugar-free substitute is for human consumption only and will cause you to have the runs if you imbibe too much. GREAT for cutting back on sugar, because you can't "cheat" with franken-sugar. If you do, you pay!!!
