Maybe you'll get lucky like I did and your co-workers will throw you a puppy shower! Milo got everything!
The crate they purchased for him was the size a full grown Corgi would use.

Make sure you get a BIG bottle of Natures Miracle or some other enzymatic cleanser for those puppy accidents!

Definitely get chewy type toys, kongs, etc. Puppies need to chew! A soft squeaky toy is great too...they play with them and cuddle with them too.
I always monitor squeak toys, you will learn if your dog has to "kill" the toy and works relentlessly to get at the squeaker (choke hazzard) or is more gentle. Even so, don't want them injesting stuffing if they tear it apart.

Huggy baby wipes for those messy bottoms. (better to get sticky poos while it is still on the dog so you don't have to wipe carpet and furniture).

Get a gentle leader or halti when your pup is a bit older (Milo was 5 mo when I introduced the gentle leader, that is when we started a puppy class). It will save your arm being pulled out its socket when walking. Milo has a regular collar and I also got him used to wearing a harness, (it doubles as part of the seat belt restraint system when in the car).

You'll probably end up with multiple beds. Milo has 3. One is in his crate, the other is for bedtime (by my bed) and the other is in the living room and is his "sofa."

I like Outward Hound products (treat pouches, water bottle holders w/a foldable nylon water bowl, etc). They are great for walks!!

Line up a great kennel so if you have to go away you know you have a place to take your pup. (friends and relatives are okay in a pinch, but I hate to impose on them).

As you get to know your pup and his personality, you will quickly learn likes and dislikes, so that will be the best guide as to what to get.

Most of all: LOVE, lots of love, cuddles, your time and patience. Doesn't cost a dime and is the best thing to give your puppy!!
Oh..excuse me, Milo has just informed me that is dead wrong: love is fine but he says TREATS! Treats are best of all!
