I love the ideas of Gaelic names or Welsh names. But lets not share too many Celtic name choices, as my husband and I have decided on some boys names for when/if we have a son that we'd like to keep top secret..so don't dig too much farther, hahahahaha! With a last name like Bennett, we need to spice it up so a bit so we aren't the generic family(which saying that just made me think of that cartoon Bobby's World, they were called the Gen-er-ick family and everyone called them Generic...wow, a huge ramble and no one probably knows what I am talking about!)
I like Conall and Rory...The meanings are always important. Although, Ponzo may be the only Italian welsh corgi(as my family likes to point out) his name is slang for "chubby belly" in Italian, which of course he does have. His name has significance because he was named after my family's business's first Hauling Truck which was named by my grandfather after my father's nickname as a child. The truck's name was The Little Ponzo...Little Ponzo being my dad's nickname! I also mentioned that I could name a cute corgi pup, Little Ponzo while standing over my dying grandfather's bedside...He had been completely out of it, but opened his eyes and laughed at my comment, thus sealing the name because it was really the last conversation I ever shared with him.
So, you never know when a good name will come around...and my vet even agrees, he checked the data base and there isn't a single Ponzo that goes there except mine!!
