From one on the outside looking in, If you look back to the 1960's right through to today, of all these sort of tragic mass killings connected in particular with schools/universities, almost all have occurred in the USA.
What we have to do, is convince Americans that easy access to guns is not the way to go. This is a very sad occasion for a nation already under pressure with its involvement in another country.
New Zealand will have some connection to this university in Virginia in a number of ways. Already I have heard that there are at least two students in NZ who have come here via that school of learning.
It is puzzling at this stage how the gunman was able to hang around and shoot people for two-three hours ( a two hour gap, I believe).
My prayers go out to all who were shot , killed and injured. I hope all the injured survive to lead a full life amd my heart goes out to all those families affected by this horror story.
