Yes, I was surprised about the colors too, that is why I wanted to see a picture of her corgis to confirm what the news showed. But I don't understand your comment that black and white are not colors for a Pem. My friend is not knowledgeable of tri-color and it was probably a tri. A brindle to her might have been a sable.

Colors
The outer coat is to be of self colors in red, sable, fawn, black and tan, with or without white markings. White is acceptable on legs, chest, neck (either in part or as a collar), muzzle, underparts, and as a narrow blaze on head.
