Merrie - one of the greatest insults you can say to me is " your British PM " - but I forgive you. The PM of New Zealand is Helen Clark - NZ born and bred and not Bristish and also not a royalist.
A lot of Americans are enamoured by the British royalty. As you rightly say, thay don't have royalty in the USA - they have film stars.
The British Prime Minister, Blair has done his dash I am afraid - he got too chummy with President Bush and the Bush administration's policies on the Middle East and the war with Iraq. However. I always say that six years is quite enough with a Goverment and a leader - and Blair and Bush are in for the chop - Blair has been pushed out and Bush has reached his max - but both overdid their stay and went past this magic six year stretch. If only dear Helem Clark and her Government had been defeated at the last NZ elections, which was the end of her two three year terms, NZ would be better for it right now.
None of these people have Corgis. That's the British Queen's saving grace and of course it has helped to make her a better person
