It depends on the dog and the kids. Some corgis are great with kids, and some aren't. And some kids are not good with dogs.
My advice is to find a reputable breeder (my defination of that is one who does the health tests and shows his/her dogs) and take your family to meet his/her dogs.
Not all breeders will place a corgi with a family with young children and one who will will want to meet you and your child. Trust that breeder to help you find the right dog for your family.
Also, consider an adult dog instead of a puppy. An adult dog will often be more tolerant of a child. Sometimes a breeder will have a retired show dog he'll be willing to place.

Also, remember that many corgis are in rescue because they were not good with children. Not always the corgis fault but yes, sometimes it was.
