Breaking your quote into two parts. No it won't hurt, but if you get your puppy from a reputable breeder then they have been handling the feet to begin with. I wasn't saying put it off indefitanetly but not necessarily the first weekend home. A few days is not going to make a difference.

I"m sorry that Dutchess does not like her feet being handled. and some dogs are that way in spite of them being handled as a puppy. Not saying she was but it does happen occasionally.

I was not saying you didn't have good advice but it didn't need to be the first weekend home. Let the puppy get a bit settled in first. They have enough changes in their lives without having to learn about feet right away.
