But on the other hand, if Gwynne is looking for a pet and companion, and intends to spey the new pup, maybe she will be giving a good home to a dog who may normally not get one.
People who are prepared to spend the extra dosh required by going to a good breeder will surely be better candidates for being good dog owners, but they may still end up with an excellent dog for their purpose ie pet, even if the parents aren't champions.
You just need to look at how many mixed breed dogs there are who make excellent pets to realise that parental bloodlines are not necessarily a "must".
