You just need to look at how many mixed breed dogs there are who make excellent pets to realise that parental bloodlines are not necessarily a "must".

The difference is that you don't know what you're getting with a mixed breed dog. If you want a corgi you don't get a mixed breed. You get a purebred corgi.
I agree with Cheetah, if you're going to buy a purebred puppy go to a reputable breeder and get one that has the health testing. One bred not just for looks but proper temperment.
Why make a market for someone who breeds indescriminately? When you buy from these people you just encourage them to breed their dog again. Many of those advertised on the internet are commerical breeders (aka puppy mills.)
Those who advertise on internet sites are not concerned about where their puppy goes just that they get the price they're asking.
IMO, a reputable breeder is a better choice.
