I realise that there are issues around the whole argument.
I know that the pups from good breeders will generally go to a good home, but the BYB dogs are at a disadvantage here through no fault of their own and that always saddens me.

I did read your post after I posted. I understand your point, but while you're "saving" a puppy, you may be condeming the parents to having more. And you might be getting a puppy with a health problem that could have been prevented by health testing, or more selective breeding.
