Interesting. The usual breed entry in my area for cardigans ranges from 2-10, depends on if you are close to the cities or an area with several breeders. AKC CH's need 15 points total from at least 3 different judges. Now most of the time unless you travel, most of your points will be from all different judges. Also of those 15, 2 sets of points must be "majors" meaning a grouping of 3-5 points at one show. AKC likes to change things up a lot and every couple of years, they analyze the show entries and will raise or lower the number of dogs needed for a specific set of points. So in South Dakota it takes a lot fewer cardigans vs Illinois which is a lot, to get a major pointed entry.
Usually at the Canadian show that Moose just returned from-5 cardigans is almost considered a specialty:0) Heck my toy dog-Brussels Griffon, we get entries of 3-4 here at shows, yet Sheryl told me that she never ever sees them at the Canadian shows she goes to.
