Yes, some Cardigans do have thicker ear leather and even larger ears than other Cardis. The bigger the ear and the heavier the leather, the more nail biting one does when the ears are supposed to be coming up.

Pembroke ears can have the same type variation in thickness and size and one goes through the same nail biting , but generally speaking; they're ears are smaller than Cardigans.
