Many dogs suffer terribly every day from physical and mental cruelty - I have a neighbour, two doors down, who has taken his two dogs for some kind of walk three times in nearly two years. A three day old puppy with a banded tail that just withers away with little or no discomfort, is a grain of sand in a 100 mile beach by comparison.
