Yes, I've heard of no frisbee for corgis and also have read of some fairly serious back muscle injuries from playing frisbee. Now I have no idea of how high the frisbee was thrown or any details of the circumstances of how the injuries happened.

There are risks in everything. Corgis have been injured running agility even. With an instructor who will gear the frisbee play towards corgi "limitations", I see no harm in checking it out.
