Hi Sarah and Peanut,
Charlie's "back and forth" on liking being brushed. One day he fights and tries to eat the brush, the next day he acts like "Oh that feels good. Keep on!", then back to fighting the next day. I usually brush him on "eat-the-brush days" until he settles down and at least tolerates it.
The Buddy Wash smells great! It's funny, the bottle reads something like "not tested on animals, but perfectly safe for humans. You're dog won't mind sharing". That actually made me think about using it on my hair because it smells so good. I'm afraid though that friends will ask what I'm using. When I say "dog shampoo", there will be no doubt that I'm a weirdo!
I'm only planning to shampoo Charlie at most once a month because the vet said that while the topical flea treatment is "supposed to be waterproof", it isn't if you're scrubbing with shampoo. He did say clean water rinse should be ok.
I've been adding the Furminator to my eBay watch list, but the medium size keeps selling for $30 or more. The pet supply store 2 miles from my house has them on sale for $30. I haven't bought one yet because I have a shedding brush, combs, and a slicker from previous pets. If I could get a really good deal on a Furminator, I'll get one. The fur on Charlie's rear-end is the only place that seems to get a little tangled. Hopefully that's just puppy fluff and will be easier to comb/brush when he has adult fur "back there".
