So true on the DO NOT include part. Most of the stuff in the stash I have, if there is something out of the ordinary, has been approved by my vet. I can't use kaopectae with the collies, so Doc has said pepto is good. Though if you don't get it in the mouth right, you end up with pink goo all over you, the dog, the wall, the floor......
Since many of us have other breeds, it's important to label the meds in the box, especially if certain ones should not be given to certain breeds. Collies should not be given Imodium or standard HW meds or ivomec containing meds, unless they have been tested for the gene that causes the problems with those drugs.
It would also be advised to have your vets # in the box-plain sight, as well as the poision control #, that of the local emergency clinic and also, animal control. Those we have taped on the door to the dog meds cabinet and also tape on the inside of the grooming box we take to the shows.
